"Tangdhar is a village and valley located in the Karnah region of Kupwara district, close to the Line of Control. Derived from 'Tang' (narrow) and 'Deh' (village), it reflects the valley's location along a narrow mountain passage. Historically associated with Raja Karan of the Mahabharata and ancient trade routes to Rawalpindi, the valley is only accessible through the majestic 10,300-ft Nasta Chun (Sadhna) Pass. It boasts an incredible mix of natural beauty, deep Pahari culture, and extensive 'Battlefield Tourism' honoring the heroes of the 1947–48 war."
